The Krankenhaus der Barmherzigen Brüder Trier is the academic teaching hospital of the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. It is one of the largest hospitals in the German federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. As specialist care provider to the entire region of Trier, the hospital currently has 632 beds, 15 medical departments being at the cutting edge of scientific and technology level, and several competence centers.
The Center for Radiology, Neuroradiology, Sonography and Nuclear Medicine offer a comprehensive range of imaging and image-guided therapy using state-of-the-art technology (including fully digital 3 Tesla high-field MRI).
The Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology perform the full range of urological therapies and operations, with the exception of kidney transplantation. More than 2,500 patients receive inpatient care every year. The certified prostate cancer center has been part of the department since 2009.
The care of patients with prostate cancer within the interdisciplinary center allows for modern and interdisciplinary treatment of the disease, as well as assuring the optimal therapy at all times.
