Whether you’re a patient who’s received the TULSA Procedure or continue to stay up-to-date with us about everything prostate-related, we want to thank you for your continued support.
This time of year is a busy time for most with festivities, travelling, and quality time with family and friends. While the holidays are fun, they can also be stressful and overwhelming for many. Now is a great time to remind you to take care of your health during this season.
Health tips for the holidays
Limit your consumption of processed foods, red meat, sugar, and alcohol – This can be especially challenging during the holidays with all the delicious food at dinners and parties. Give yourself permission to indulge, but try to balance your plate with plenty of veggies, protein, and fruits. Before you head out to a dinner party, eat a small healthy snack beforehand to maintain your blood sugar levels and to help you avoid overeating.
It can be easy to forget water consumption during the hustle and bustle of the season, especially with the abundance of sugary drinks and alcohol. Don’t forget to drink water and stay hydrated – your body will thank you!
Stay active – It’s common for exercise routines to fall to the wayside during this time, but staying active is especially important to help you reduce stress and balance the treats. If you’ve had to adjust your exercise routine because of your busy schedule, try adding small things to your day, like taking the stairs and going for a walk on your lunch break.
Last but certainly not least, enjoy spending time with your family! This time of year is meant to be full of joy and quality time with our loved ones, which can be one of the greatest things for our overall health, but we also understand that it can take up a lot of energy and time. Reducing stress through the holidays can help you feel refreshed in the new year. Remember, saying no to some holiday festivities is okay if you’re prioritizing your health.
