Thanks to the leadership of Dr. Scionti, an experienced surgeon with over 15 years experience using prostate ablation technology, and his nursing and patient support team, the Scionti Prostate Center has cared for over 1700 patients. These patients have been treated with ultrasound ablation techniques and were provided with customized treatment plans based on MRI images, mapped biopsy results, molecular and genomic markers, and careful lifestyle consideration. The Scionti Prostate Center is the first TULSA Procedure site in North America post-FDA approval. Furthermore, the center is actively providing TULSA-Pro as a minimally invasive prostate cancer treatment option in Sarasota, Florida.

Over the past 20 years Dr. Stephen Scionti has developed the largest and most experienced practice for prostate cancer treatment using minimally invasive thermal ablation technologies such as HIFU, TULSA-Pro, Cryoablation and Prostate Laser Ablation. He has achieved global recognition for his experience, skill and groundbreaking clinical contributions in the field of image-guided prostate cancer ablation. He is also an internationally recognized authority in innovative prostate cancer diagnostics. Beyond his practice, Dr. Scionti actively researches and lectures on the outcomes and technology associated with minimally invasive prostate HIFU therapy ablation.
Dr. Scionti formerly served as Clinical Associate Professor of Urology and Director of Prostate Cancer Ablation Surgery at the Joel E. Smilow Comprehensive Prostate Cancer located at the New York University School of Medicine and Langone Medical Center. Prior to his NYU appointment, he was medical director and founder of the Hilton Head, SC International Center for Men’s Health.
Interventional Radiologist
Dr. Ayyagari received his Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Biology from Swarthmore College in 1996. After that, he served in the Peace Corps for two and a half years, working in Ecuador’s Andes mountains and Amazon rainforests. Driven by his passion for providing medical care to those in need, he pursued a Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree at Yale School of Medicine, which he completed in 2004. He then underwent rigorous training, including a two-year Urology residency at the University of Washington, a Diagnostic Radiology residency, and a Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. His comprehensive training culminated in 2011, and he went on to become an Associate Professor of Interventional Radiology and Urology at Yale, where he served until 2022. In August of the same year, he returned to Boston where he is currently Associate Professor of Radiology at Boston University School of Medicine and staff Interventional Radiologist at Boston Medical Center.
