Professor and Chairman of the UTMB Department of Radiology

An internationally-renowned interventional radiologist, Dr. Walser’s clinical interests are wide-ranging and include the use of non-surgical ablation for treatment of small tumors in the prostate, liver, lung and kidney as alternatives to open surgery.

He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and authored textbooks on Interventional Radiology. Dr. Walser has lectured throughout the world regarding minimally invasive cancer treatment. His training in Radiology was at Indiana University and he was a Professor of Radiology at the Mayo Clinic in Florida for 5 years before taking the chairman’s role at UTMB in 2012.
