Y. Mark Hong, MD
About
Dr. Y. Mark Hong is among the most experienced TULSA-PRO surgeons in the United States and the first to perform TULSA-PRO in Arizona. A summa cum laude graduate of Rice University, Dr. Hong attended Stanford University School of Medicine and completed urological surgery residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. During fellowship at George Washington University, Dr. Hong researched improvements in robotic prostatectomy technique to improve incontinence and sexual dysfunction.
Despite advances in robotic surgery, Dr. Hong recognized ongoing challenges to curing prostate cancer without collateral damage. Having performed TULSA-PRO since 2021, Dr. Hong believes curing prostate cancer without harmful side effects is not only possible but likely with careful TULSA-PRO planning and execution. Having completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at University of Arizona, Dr. Hong is founding member of Integrative Urology, a practice rooted in the belief the body has a natural ability to heal. Dr. Hong has been featured on WebMD, ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS news affiliates, Today Show, radio, BuzzFeed and numerous media outlets.
