Board Certified in Urology by the American Board of Urology
Dr. James Cochran is a board-certified urologist with a strong interest in new treatments and cutting edge technology. He specializes in minimally invasive therapies with the sole purpose of helping patients’ maintain and improve their quality of life.
Dr. Cochran served as the medical director of clinical trials at Urology Clinical of North Texas, where he practiced for nearly 40 years in the greater Dallas, TX area. He recently retired from UCNT and has opened his own practice, specializing in prostate disease. As the director of clinical trials, Dr. Cochran was active in the research and development of new treatments for all phases of urologic disease. He was the principal investigator for the FDA in over 40 studies evaluating new diagnostic and treatment methods for prostate cancer. In total, Dr. Cochran has participated in over 80 different clinical trials for treatment of urologic conditions. He was also a Certified Principal Investigator for Clinical Trials through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).
Scientist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
Dr. Rajiv Chopra is a co-founder of Texas Prostate. While earning his PhD in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto, he began developing the TULSA Procedure. This FDA-cleared, innovative treatment is used worldwide for treating prostate disease.
In 2008, Dr. Chopra founded Profound Medical to bring TULSA-PRO to patients. He has personally participated in hundreds of procedures and is dedicated to expanding access to this treatment globally, with the goal of making it available to all men with prostate disorders.
In 2012, Dr. Chopra joined UT Southwestern as a CPRIT Scholar, where he advanced focused ultrasound therapies for prostate, brain, and uterine conditions. Dr. Chopra has authored over 100 research papers, holds 10 patents, and founded several companies focused on improving patient care with minimally invasive, image-guided therapies.
